If you’ve been inspired watching the Great Pottery Throwdown on Channel 4 and thought you would like to have a go, well you can!
The Triangle Pottery is run by Daniel, who you might recognise from The Great Pottery Throwdown (series 2). He’s been working with clay for more than 45 years, and it really shows — he’s a master on the wheel and a natural teacher.
Daniel has shared pottery with all sorts of people; recently including adults with mental health issues in a psychiatric facility, where he teaches two days a week. He’s seen how getting your hands into clay can help you slow down, switch off from the noise of everyday life, reconnect with yourself and just enjoy creating something from scratch.
People often find that working with clay boosts their confidence and gives them a simple, satisfying way to express themselves. It’s hands on, calming, and you don’t need any experience to feel the benefits. Whether you’re looking to try a new hobby, unwind, or explore your creative side, pottery offers a really welcoming space to do it; before you know it, you will have made something you’re genuinely proud of.
Daniel offers tuition for individuals, couples, groups, or Pay as You Go sessions for you to practice by yourself.
The Pottery is ideal for Hen Parties, Team Building, Birthdays or Anniversaries and much more.
Triangle Pottery is situated in the leafy suburbs of Farnborough, Hampshire, on the borders of Berkshire and Surrey. The Pottery is 1.5 miles from Junction 4 of the M3. By train it’s a 40 minute journey from London Waterloo to Farnborough Main, and a short walk or bus ride to the Pottery.
There is ample parking for up to 10 cars on the drive.
Triangle Pottery is a purpose built, well-lit and ventilated, spacious, modern facility with wheelchair access. The Pottery can cater for up to 10 people. There are dedicated areas for both pottery wheel ‘throwing’ and hand building. There is an extensive reference library of pottery books and Ceramic Review dating back to the 1980’s. Part of the studio is dedicated to work made by this country’s foremost makers.
The Pottery is equipped with an electric kiln. Work made on the wheel or hand-built will be fired twice; once to bisque temperature of 1000°C; then glazed and fired to earthenware temperature 1100°C.
